Sphere - A decentralized social network

Who would have thought a couple of hundred years before what world would be like?Communication and travel have turned this world into a global village. They have connected states, nations and continents. These evolutions in the technology and modern science have revolutionized life. The distances that were covered in days and months are now covered in minutes and hours. And communicating with people living outside your state was quite impossible and with those outside the country, it was a dream. Time changed and so did technology, now communicating with even those that are in different continents is just a mere work of fingers. Getting a contact of those who lived far used to take days and months, and sometimes years. Now with the introduction of internet our world has become a global village and communication has become easy, so easy that you can not just text them, not just talk to them, but even you can see them, living thousands of miles away from you, live in front of you. This is what technology has done.

You can imagine how world had changed even before the introduction of internet. And even before Marshal McLuhan, when you hear what Nicolas Tesla in an interview with Colliers Magazine in 1926 had stated will tell you the vision that these revolutionary people had and when you look at what they had said will leave you speechless as this is what we are experiencing now, rightly predicted by Nicolas Tesla:

In today's time, I don't think the old technology would suffice. For us to be here where we are, we needed to get better in every aspect of life. And same was the case with technology. The communication system evolved with time and we experienced some great feats achieved. As mentioned above, it was very tough to get in touch with those that lived at a place very distant from us and you couldn't image that someone who would write something on a machine that he keeps in his pocket would be seen by people living in different nations and continents altogether, as you're doing now. This is what has brought us all together, this is what a global village is.

With the introduction of social media we were able to create blogs, share information and have conversations. Social media was/is used for communication purposes on a personal level and as a network to broaden your professional network on a professional level. Billions of people around the globe use social media for these purposes. This huge amount of people, using social media, has helped social media giants make billions and billions of dollars. Most of the money they make is for the data, shared by these billions of users, they sell to the advertisers who in return pay them huge amount of money. The same people they make their money from are being exploited because of this centralized nature of these networks.
